| Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Fatima’s interest in the arts was evident at an early age. With a degree in Industrial Design from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Fatima spent over twenty years working in commercial graphic and industrial design. In 1999, corporate relocation brought Fatima and her family to Geneva, IL, where her passion for the arts was once again ignited. Fatima has extensive experience with myriad types of art, but it wasn’t until arriving in Geneva that Fatima took a particular interest in watercolor. Fatima honed her watercolor skills though classes at the Geneva Park District, the Fine Line Arts Center, and the DuPage Art League. Additionally, Fatima regularly participates in workshops with recognized instructors. Fatima is currently a member of the Wayne Art League, and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Throughout the years, Fatima has become very involved in the local community. Her mural “Once Upon a Time” can be seen at the Geneva History Center and Fatima has used Geneva historic landmarks as inspiration for numerous paintings currently held in private and public collections. Fatima is represented throughout the year by the Proud Fox Gallery at 213 W State St, Geneva, IL 630-262-8797 |
